To individually withdraw from facebook™ means to suffer social and informational poverty and is no longer a viable option

Are you a Facebook worker? If you have a Facebook account, communicate, 'like', post or share information about yourself or others on Facebook, you are not only communicating with your friends, you are also working for the organisation. You provide Facebook with valuable data and labor that should be recognised and valued in a transparent fashion. Our union recognises the uneven balance of work contributions by Facebook workers on daily basis and the lack of workers' influence on the way the social network is run. Further, as Facebook shifts from a commercial enterprise into a "service" embedded in people's everyday lives we recognise that to individually withdraw from Facebook means to suffer social and informational poverty and is no longer a viable option. The Facebook Workers Union works towards the improvement of the conditions of the common good (facebook) and rights of the workers in this 'workplace'.
